Pastor Dennis Hamilton: Dennis Hamilton joined the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1963. At his first Pastoral District in Berbice River, Berbice, he met and married the former Elsa Marshall, a Children‘s Division Teacher of the DeVeld SDA Church and Seamstress. Prior to being elected Men’s Ministries and Adventist Mission Director for the Guyana Conference of Seventh-day Adventist, Dennis served in several Pastoral Districts in Demerara, Berbice and Essequibo. He also served as ADRA Director and temporarily as Health Director.
During his career as a pastor, Dennis has been a Church planter, planting several churches, and influenced the planting of many more through new and energetic Pastors of the Conference. A strong believer in meeting and visiting people in their homes, farm or work place, he has traveled doing so using any available mode of transport- speedboats, plane, walking, Bauxite tugboats, bicycles, tractors, oxcarts, so that members can be visited, trained and nurtured.
Dennis holds a Bachelor’s of Art degree in theology from West Indies College (now Northern Caribbean University), a Master’s Arts in Pastoral Theology with an emphasis in marriage and family and Mission from Andrews University at the University Southern Caribbean campus.
He and Elsa have been married for nearly 30 years and have three daughters, Denel, Lisa and Finesse, and son-in-law, Stefon, and grandson Demetri.
