Who we are

Rooted in Guyana for more than a century

The Seventh-day Adventist Church was established in Guyana in 1887. Today our members worship in more than 220 congregations, organised into 31 pastoral districts across the country's three counties: Demerara, Essequibo and Berbice.

From city churches in Georgetown to village congregations up the rivers and across the savannahs, we share one hope: that Jesus is coming again, and that His love changes lives today.

That faith takes shape in schools, in health care through Davis Memorial Hospital, in community services and Harvest Ingathering, and in more than 35 ministries for families, children, young people and women.

Mission and vision

Our mission

Make disciples of Jesus Christ who live as His loving witnesses and proclaim to all people the everlasting gospel of the Three Angels' Messages in preparation for His soon return.

Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, Revelation 14:6-12

Our vision

In harmony with Bible revelation, Seventh-day Adventists see as the climax of God's plan the restoration of all His creation to full harmony with His perfect will and righteousness.
